Sandra’s journey began with a simple telescope and a boundless curiosity about the night sky. Over the years, her passion has only grown, leading her to establish this stargazing service to share the beauty of the stars with others.
Our Unique Location
Stewart Island, known as Rakiura by the Maori, meaning “Glowing Skies,” is one of the world’s few Dark Sky Sanctuaries. This prestigious designation is a testament to the pristine quality of our night skies, free from the pollutive light of urban areas. Here, the Milky Way stretches across the horizon, and the Southern Lights occasionally grace us with their ethereal presence.
What We Offer
We provide guided stargazing sessions equipped with a high-quality 8-inch Dobsonian telescope and powerful 20×80 binoculars. Our services are designed to cater to both novices and seasoned astronomers. Each session is an intimate gathering, ensuring a personal and engaging experience.
